The architecture in Sibiu Smart City
In 2013, the administration of the city of Sibiu emphasizes the slogan "Smart". In the field of urban development, the term "Smart Cities" is one in vogue, and the promotion of cities under this title is becoming more and more important.
Performance at the urban level depends not only on the technical infrastructure, but also on the availability and quality of knowledge, communication and social infrastructure. There are six aspects that play an important role in increasing the competitiveness of cities and which are closely linked to the concept of "Smart Cities": economy, mobility, environment, population, way of life and governance.
Through the development of the Sibiu Pavilion - Smart City the organizers (HERITAS Foundation) intend to create a communication platform for citizens, in order to gather and synthesize relevant materials for the elaboration of the new Development Guide for the City of Sibiu (2014-2020). This document defines the strategic development goals of a city, ensures sustainable planning, provides a strategic basis, for example for other planning documents.
The "De-a arhitectura" team, represented by the architects Anca Bordean, Iulia Nistor and Carmen sandru, arrived at the Piata Mare in Sibiu, in the Smart City Pavilion and proposed to the students to mobilize / organize / disorganize the school yard as they would like it.
With the printed plans of the 24 schools in Sibiu, with many self-adhesive symbols representing activities or objects that we considered to be useful in the school yard (sports, vegetable garden, fruit trees, banquets, place of the lesson in outdoors, bicycle rake, etc.), but also with examples of beautiful schools around the world, we enthusiastically started the workshop "De-architecture in the school yard".
The children, proposed changes to the school yard using their own imagination, the examples that were made available to them, the stickers with symbols, they created their own symbols that we did not think about (grass, climbing wall, trails with obstacles, etc.), proposed new activities (small animals farm to take care of them), noted ideas, stories, wishes
This is the first stage of the "De-a architecture in the school yard" project, the stage where we managed to get "consulting" from small users for 7 schools in Sibiu. We want the product of this "public consultation" to reach under the informed eyes (of the City Hall, and of the school management) and to be a working tool for evaluating and improving the quality of the environment in which children learn.
The event took place at the Sibiu Smart City International Conference, an event organized by the HERITAS Foundation.
For the 2013-2014 school year, the Association "De-a arhitectura" is also present in the city of Sibiu, in 12 classes (school no. 18 - 4 classes, school no. 5 - 3 classes, school no. 4 - 2 classes, school no. 2 - 1 class, Onisifor Ghibu high school - 1 class, Pedagogical high school - 1 class). This is possible with the help of the architects Anca Bordean, Iulia Nistor, Carmen Sandru, Alexandru Gavozdea, Livia Aruncutean, Simona Vecerzan, Veronica Timofte, whom we thank on behalf of the children!
