The National Museum of the Romanian Peasant invites you on Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 5:00 pm, at the opening of the exhibition of set eggs, Easter holiday. The exhibition will take place at the Foaier hall and can be visited until May 12, 2013, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 and 18:00.
The Easter holiday is for Romanians, next to Christmas, one of the most important holidays of the year. It is a family holiday dominated by the solemnity of the Resurrection moment. The exhibition will present to the public a special heritage, made up of icons, crosses, Easter eggs painted or set.
In the exhibition will be found specific sequences for the Easter holidays: the mass in the cemetery on Easter day, as a communion with the souls of the deceased in the family; the tree of desires or the suggestion of the ceremonies related to the choice of Craiului or Junilor, as well as a large number of colored eggs, set (confined), egg-shaped eggs and eggs decorated with beads.
