Influenza vaccination campaign

Influenza vaccination campaign

Beginning with next week begins the campaign of free vaccination of the population for this season. The Ministry of Health has available this year almost 4 million doses of vaccine, the highest quantity obtained in the last five years.
Free influenza vaccination will be possible in both adults and children with chronic illnesses, employees involved in social organizations, healthcare professionals and the elderly. Persons who cannot receive the vaccine in three doses can be presented to the family doctor, where they will be able to get a free vaccine until February 2008
If there are many cases of influenza, the Ministry of Health will extend the free flu vaccination campaign, currently this program runs until January 2008.
It is recommended that the vaccine be made by the end of November so that the body has time to synthesize its antibodies.
