Pregnancy and pollen

Question:

- I am pregnant in week 14/15 and my question is if I can consume pollen during pregnancy and if yes, in what quantity. I mention that I am a vegetarian and I am not allergic to bee preparations.

Answer:

Depending on how you presented my situation, I suspect there are people who have told you that there is a suspicion that pollen administration during pregnancy could affect its evolution.
In general, bee products are beneficial for the development of pregnancy, this being true if you do not really have an allergy to these products.
As they are natural preparations, they do not have negative effects on the pregnancy, the quantification of the beneficial effects being not calculated through specialized studies.
However, as any other product administered during pregnancy and not only, it is not good to make excesses of any kind, the administered diet must be varied, to encompass a broader spectrum of constituents.
I do not know to what extent the vegetarian diet is beneficial during pregnancy, this varying from case to case; but I recommend that you discuss with the attending doctor the opportunity to continue this type of diet and during pregnancy, considering the possibility of renouncing the vegetarian diet at least during pregnancy.
Good health!
